Incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 2022, the mission of the Falmouth Pond Coalition (FPC) is to “To Protect and Preserve Falmouth’s Freshwater Ponds through Organizing, Partnership, and Education.” We are focused on freshwater ponds because many are degraded or are at risk of becoming degraded, and because freshwater ponds have received less attention and resources than Falmouth’s bays, estuaries, rivers, and saltwater ponds. The Coalition includes organizational and individual members who share a common concern about protecting and preserving our freshwater ponds through education and community building, responsible property management and stewardship, partnership with other organizations that share our values and goals, and engagement and advocacy with government officials to ensure that effective public policies are in place that help to advance our mission.
